I’m doing the design work for a new deck for a customer. I’m going to use weatherbest composite decking and would like to rip a 5/4 x 6 down to a 5/4 x 4. Has anyone ripped down a 12 ft board before? Did it work and what kind of blade did you use? Thanks

What is weatherbest?
Do it right, or do it twice.
I've used Trex and Rhino Plank; Both can be ripped, planed, routed....One of my employees took a scrap of 5/4 home and turned a little lighthouse out of it on his lathe.
I just use my regular framing carbide tipped saws....cuts are just fine (although the plastic sawdust can get a little stringy and build up in the blade shroud).
Sounds like Weatherbest is like trex. Then I agree...I have ripped 2x with a regular carbide blade in a decent saw. A rip blade (few teeth, big gullets) works best because of the stringiness.Do it right, or do it twice.
