Had a guy come out to fill some pot holes in a small parking lot. Unbeknownst to me he used a crushed rock material. He says its good for about 7 years. Looks like a con job to me. He spent about 2 hours on the job filling the holes with what looks to me like crush N run without the rocks. Anybody know of this stuff, its properties, or costs?

I don't know much about it, but our town uses it in winter when the hot batch plant is not open.
You can use "cold mix" like we do down here. Just the aggragate and emulsion in a slurry. Gotta be a dry day when you put it down.
Does it have any asphault in it or just rock and dust?

its just rock and dust. Looks like ABC without the rock.
Sounds like limestone dust.

depends what rock it came from. Get rock dust here and it's likely granite

Pour in some epoxy resin, let harded, and wha-la,...granite counter top patches in yer drive!
We call that "screenings". It's kinda like course sand. Here it is granite, but it all depends on what type of rock is common in your local area.
I've never heard of using it for that, but I don't know very much about paving. We use it for stuff like putting under brick pavers and we use it for backfill on wet and dry utilities when the native soil contains too much rock that you don't want up against your pipes and wires.
Did you ask him to fill em'or fix em'? That might be the con. Even highway grade DOT patch won't last 7 years.
