Hello All,
I have a question about Roof Deck … What will be the best option to cover EPDM in Roof Deck showing in the picture attached? This is 45mil EPDM, and thinking to add another layer of 20mil of EPDM.
Then put type of tiles but I dont want the new techs tile that little expensive and leave a gap.
So looking for type of tile that glued or stick directly to the EPDM. And same time will not be more than 2 inches because that the highest I can go to avoid the door entrance and storage.
Thanks in advance

I’ve laid down many a roll of EPDM. I also did leak detail during the winters. I am not understanding why you want to glue down another layer of membrane on top of what appears to be a new roof. Usually what happens, is a thicker membrane is laid down, 60 or 90 mil they’re just harder to work with due to weight and they don’t flex as easily. I’ve never known any building that has added another layer of EPDM on top of an existing layer.
This appears to be a glue down and not going to be a ballast (clean gravel, usually white) system, is that correct? In my opinion, based from working for a commercial roofing company, you don’t want to glue anything down to your membrane other than seam tape. When you get a leak, and you will, you need to be able to find it. You can get inexpensive walkways that have double sided tape, I have no idea how long they last. You absolutely need all the wrinkles out or there will be holes just from walking on it. Leaks are easier to find when it’s raining, you can follow the water trail if you have access to see underneath the roof deck. You will also need to be very careful about how much weight you can safely put on the roof deck and how many people you’ll have sipping a cold one on it as well…and no high heels!
