I am currently rebuilding a porch and will be adding a new deck on the porch with a new door where the current window is. My plan is to intall 6×6 posts under each corner where the coffer boxes (?) are. The posts will penetrate the new porch and rest directly on 10 dia. footers. Here is a view of the project.
The upper deck will be appoximately 6 x 9 feet. I am confident that the roof can hold a deck of this size, but because the interior floor will be 12 inches higher than the highest point of the roof, I cannot do the usual construction of sleepers directly on the roofing material. Instead, I will install a ledger board on the house side of the deck, and two 4 x4s at each corner. View Image
My concern is how to rest the 4 by 4s directly on the roof. Does anyone have any thoughts on a kind of footer that will spread the weight out a little bit?
Below is the depth of the coffer boxes: 13 inches.
Likewise, I am reluctant to let the weight of the coffers rest directly on the 6x6s as they are really hallow boxes. Need some kind of wide “landing pad’ in between the top of the 6x6s and the coffer boxes.
Handy Dan

Dan,
I don't have any roof or deck advice. I'm just posting to let you know your messages aren't disappearing. There's a pulldown menu near the top of the left frame that controls what messages are displayed. The default setting is Unread Messages, so once you post a message, you won't see it again until someone posts a reply.
This would be far, far easier to keep up with if you would keep it all in one thread. So far I think you have 5 or 6 separate threads spilling all over the place confusing us. I'm getting dizzy
