I have an attic ventilation/mold issue and its because the fiberglass batts in my sloped ceiling are blocked by this weird modular pre-fab framing. The blue line goes all the way across, and the red roof beam butts against it (pic 1).
I’m pretty sure it will be cheaper to have a new roof/sheathing installed rather than mold remediation. So basically anything is on the table once the roof is off. What would you do? The best idea I have so far is to make these green cutouts (pic 2) when the roof is off, deep enough to fit insulation baffles.
3rd pic is an overall view. The insulation baffles bend in a U (yellow) around the blue beam. Which probably does not help airflow or R-value.

It seems like you're facing an attic ventilation and mold issue due to the fiberglass batts in your sloped ceiling being blocked by pre-fab framing. If you're considering options, it might be more cost-effective to install a new roof/sheathing rather than investing in mold remediation. With the roof off, one potential solution could be to create green cutouts deep enough to accommodate insulation baffles, as shown in the second picture. These baffles, bent in a U shape around the blue beam, can help improve airflow and potentially enhance the overall R-value of your insulation. Assessing your specific situation and consulting with a professional would be advisable for the best course of action.
