Hi everyone. I’ve been really busy working on my house & was almost ready to move back in and…….. an oak tree fell on it !! My luck sucks.
So I am asking for some advice about my new roof. I really know nothing about them & want to choose well. I’ve already fought with the ins. co. & refused their offer of both a patch job & a half roof @@ & they are going to replace the whole roof. What I really want is a white metal roof but that ain’t gonna happen so it will be shingles & the only thing I know for sure is that I want pale grey.
The house is a small wooden cottage – only 47 feet long / 24 feet wide. Side gable. Will be painted yellow w/ white trim and I live in Central Florida.
Can you guys please give me some info as to what I can look into so I can make the best choice & I will know when or if I am getting fed BS?
Thanks 😉

Sorry about that.........replacing a roof on that house would I think be pretty cut and dried........BUT if it were mine I would, if give the opportunity, make the ceiling (trussed?) cathedral.
Makes a huge difference in a small home
Oh I'd a lot of things if only I could :-( Maybe one day........... But I just need to know the best kind of shingles & stuff like that this time aroundBobbi
I belong to a professional forum where this gets discussed all the time.
While I may prefer one brand over another, It would have little to do with what is available in Fla..
From my experience, from the fights, it is a regional thing as to which is better in your location.
Sorry this is the best I can do for you, maybe our fla. guys can give you a better idea.

***No worries, thank you amyway. There are things I know about & how to do but I don't know much about roofs & if I'd know if they weren't done well or with the right materials so I thought now would be a good time to find out.Bobbi
