roof to wall flashing detail on reroof?

I am in the process of re-roofing a roof. I have stripped the shingles and Felt. I have a roof to wall intersection and the wall is sided with T1-11. This house is in snow country so we usually use Ice and water shield on the wall under the siding and on to the roof. Then felt on the roof with shingles and step flashing over that. My question is how is this accomplished on a re-roof where the siding is in place all ready? Is it possible to pull the lower nails out from the siding and tuck ice and water shield under the siding? Ice and water shield is very sticky!

Pretty much
impossible to do it right without removing siding.
Consider a weatherboard
Strike a line on the wall roughly the height above the deck needed to install a 1x or 5/4x6 (or wider) cedar or similar trim board..
Use a tacked -on guide or free hand a skillsaw cut just deep enough to cut through the T1-11.
Remove the waste to reveal the sheathing on the wall. If there is no sheathing, blocking might be needed between studs.
Work your water diversion system up the wall, shingle, flash etc.
Work a Z strip under the siding then install your properly prepared weatherboard,.
The Z strip caps the weatherboard, the weatherboard should be off of the roof enough to prevent rot, allowing free flow of water and air circulation.
