My mother is in need of a new roof and I am not going to have time to do much on it. She lives in The Dalles, OR, about 85 miles east of Portland. The roof is a 1 in 12 built up roof that was redone about 12 years ago. The job was done by the biggest, and at that time about the only, roof in The Dalles. Unfortunately, it started to leak inside the soffits almost immediately and the company made a couple of half hearted attempts to mitigate the problem before refusing to do any more (so much for a ten year warranty). Thus, she refuses to use that company again and would like to find a good roofing company that is willing to come to The Dalles to do a 1200 sq ft. residential roof. I have talked to a couple of roofing companies, but they were not doing built up roofing.

You might want to consider a single ply system for this roof instead of a built up roof.
It's a lot simpler job that more roofers have mechanics to complete for you.
With a 1/12 you'll never have problems with ponded water so single ply is a good choice I think. The archives here must have lots of info.

You might try Jim Fisher Roofing. They are in Sherwood. They are very good. Don't know if they will go to The Dalles. But they did the house next to my folks in McMinnville. Oh, they also did my roof. Came out a couple times the first couple years after windstorms to check things out. No charge.
