boy I hope you all will forgive me for asking this since this website is called ‘finehomebuilding’ and what I need to know is really the farthest thing from it. Old low pitched roofs on row houses in the cheap part of town. Got a bunch to do but they don’t want them done right ie tearoff. I…ah…armmmph… need to know if there is a mastic roll on product or something that can cover these roofs to hold for a few years. It’s roll roofing over spongy plywood. Oh gawd I can’t believe I’m asking this. Anyhow that’s it. yeah been considering metal too, but fishing for data hoping for a way out. Wish I coulda changed my name on the post before asking this. Thanks. signed- the low life.

Well rez, sounds like blue tarps with old tires is just what their budget will cover. Mark it up enough to cover replacement in about 6 months x 3 and your done. :) Joe H
Try a google search for Conklin products. Not sure it is the correct spelling, and don't know much about the product or its performance. It is a roll on roof coating that is suppose to go over shingle or roll roofing. I first heard of it 20 years ago from a cousin that was selling the stuff. He still has some type of roofing franchise with them, so they may still market a similar product.
