I’m looking for a supplier of roofing slate near Nova Scotia, perhaps in New England. Any suggestions? Also any tips or techniques would also be appreciated. I’ve never worked with slate but would like to start.
Thanks.

I use "The Slate Roof Bible" as a reference.
You'll also need a true slate hammer to create the needed divot for the nail head.
Being material that you can't force it to do something it shouldn't kind of saves you from getting in trouble. It's inherently slow work, that will keep from going far wrong too.

Thanks a lot... I'll search for the book. I was wondering if the exposures can be varied? That is can I use a mixed percentage of different length tiles?
