is there such a thing made, as a right angle attachment with hammer action? Bosch has an attachment but it’s rotary drilling only, which could make for a very, very long day.
I am wanting to drill 5/8″ holes, thru a sill plate, and about 6″-8″ deep into an 18 yr old concrete foundation. Vertical clearance looks in some places too tight (16-18″ ?) to fit in a Bosch or Milwaukee rotohammer & bit.

Tom,
Bosch sells a 90 degree SDS adapter head that transmits blows as well as rotation. They claim something like 60% of the straight impact force. I do not have one, but often think about it in those awkward moments when it would be a life-saver.

*Bill- thanks for responding.I emailed Bosch, the right angle attachment is only for Bosch's 7/8" roto-hammer (unfortunately), not the 1-1/8" hammer that I would prefer.here's Bosch's response:Thank you for visiting our website. Unfortunately the Model 11222EVS willnot accept the right angle attachment.TechInfo> -----Original Message-----> From: Bosch Tools [SMTP:[email protected]]> Sent: Monday, April 23, 2001 11:07 AM> Subject: Technical Support> > THIS IS THE INFORMATION PROVIDED: > > Name: tom herman> Email: [email protected]> Country: - Select One -> Model Number of Tool: 11222EVS> Message: does the 11222EVS (1-1/8)hammer> accept a right angle SDS head? It appears that the 11224/11228> hammers do accept a right angle but I need a more heavy duty faster> drilling hammer than these smaller 7/8 hammers. Thank you.
*Bummer, Tom. Have you tried Metabo or Hilti? They both make great hammers and may have what you need.Bill
*Tom,Sounds like a Hilti thang to me. I've never seen such a drill or attachment, but Hilti has some wierd industrial stuff. It's gonna cost. How about the Milwaukee 90 degree Hole Hawg? It's not hammer rated, but it's got one heck of a punch.Good luck, and let us know what you find.Ed.
*I'm also checking into the Hilti TE-15 ... "optimum concrete range" 3/8 - 5/8", maximum 1", SDS-plus bits.Hilti told me the TE-AC right angle chuck maintains about 50% of the hammer blow strength.
*Try this:1. Use a regular hammer drill to drill 1 or 2 inches.2. Insert a short rorary hammer drill bit into the hole. 3. Attached the rotary hammer drill onto the drill bit. Drill 3 or 4 inches deep. 4. Repeat 2 and 3 with a longer drill bit. It worked for me and saved me $$$ in getting the RAD attachment.
