I think most brands of skylights have gone to standard sizes to match rough-in openings based on standard frame spacing (multiples of 16" or 24" OC).
*can't prove it by the table of sizes for And. Roto.. or Velux......
*b WBA At Your ServiceSam, Two years ago, our office sent me to replace a discontinued Pella unit that didn't match up to stock sizes from competitors. While I decided to reframe and use a Velux, our office found a manufacturer that would custom make a unit to any size needed. I saw the literature and it looked like a decent unit. If you want info on this, I could get on Monday. Either post a request here, or email me.
*Aren't the standard sizes still 21.5", 30.6", and 44.75" ? (1x 24OC, 2x 16OC, and either 3x 16OC or 2x 24OC).
*Tim That would be great if you could get me the manafacturers name for a custom unit. The Roto 410 was a skyligt that Roto inported from Europe and is no longer made . Thanks Sam
*b WBA At Your ServiceSam, Here is some info for you,Starlight SkylightsP.O. Box 2186Easton, MD 21601800-776-1539www.starlightskylights.com The person in our office who made the recommendation has installed several of these. He said the flashing is similar in style to Velux. The units are available in fixed or operating and they will make any size you want. The price must be reasonable or this person would not have recommended them. We have a distributor in Allentown, PA, but you will have to call for your locale. Let me know what you think if you purchase one.Good Luck
*Is it the glazing that failed? It can be replaced, perhaps for a lot less money and hassle than replacing the whole unit.Ron
