I have a house and garage built in the late 1950’s. It has rough cut cedar siding. The house has done okay, but the garage has some serious wood rot. I had to pull off some siding the other day and discovered that the 2 x 4 sills were in a terrible state and I suspect it affects most of the garage. I think one option is to expose the wall, jack it up and replace the wood in sections. Is this practical or should I consider tearing it down and starting over? Any other suggestions?
