Round, concrete, outdoor table & benches
Any suggestions on how to build a round concrete table and benches for outdoor use? Thinking about about 4 feet in diameter.

I don't know, Shoe . . .
'round here every little garden shop and feed store sells them
for $199. I just don't see how you can justify the forms and
material expense.
Greg.
Greg, where is 'round here you are reffering to? I have called several patio furniture places, and greenhouse/nursuries here in Minneapolis and no one seems to know where I would get one

thanks cloudy, nice looking stuff on that site
Shoe,
I'm in Georgia. Maybe it's a redneck thing. The concrete ornamentation is very common around here. You can buy planters,
rabbits, benches, chickens, round and square tables.
I wouldn't think that the unavailability up there would have anything to do with the freeze / thaw cycle, would you ?
Greg.
Greg, I don't think it is a freeze thaw thing. I did get two calls yesterday from Nursuries that said they have them for about $300. Was kinda talking myself into thinking building one would be fun, but now that I have found a source will probably just buy one. Although there is still some appeal to casting one myself. Lets see, upside down garbage can lid for base, some kinda sonu tube - or a part from a cheesy plastic bird bath for the column form, top from ot of pywood or perhaps that plastic sand box lid in the neighbors yard. Hmmmmmmmm maybe it is a redneck thing. wonder if I could form up the whole thing outta beer cans, gotta run gottta go start emptying out some form supplies
thanks for the help

you could probably adapt many things from the recent Concrete Counter Top in FHB to the outdoor stuff. Forms, coloring and finishing.
If youre interested in this, do it. Dont listen to the old "its cheaper to buy" line. have fun and make it interesting and unique.
Shoeman:
There's a couple of garden places on Grand Ave over in Saint Paul that have that sort of thing. However, they're probably a bit pricey.
