Probably a question for the folks over there at knots, but, I was thinking portable.
Wondering what if any router tables people like.
The new Bosch looks nice but costs about $300.
Seems the woodworkers supply stores tend to have formica tops and such for about $150 all the time – store brand.
Not really sure even what to look for. Haven’t really used one, seems like it might be handy sometimes though. Mostly what I do is a little rabbeting or roundover work with a bearing guided bit or ocassional dado work running against a tru grip clamp or using router mounted edge guide.
So, anyway, anyone have anything to say about portable router tables?

Thanks for the input Mike & Ron.
Anyone else care to chime in?
Give me some good advice, and I might give you some pictures of the Wacko's timberframe project.
I went with the Lee Valley system, and I'm very happy with it.

The steel plate is nice, works well. I just got the table, fence, and stand - I didn't get the router jack - probably would make the thing a bit more useful. The fence microadjust is nice, works well. Pretty solid.
Table is a little small but you said you wanted portable
I have and really liked

If you already have a router, the money for a dedicated small router table and router will cost more then 250 this thing costs.
i have the freud table top with its exotic fence system, (makes a great jointer), really like the system, have to make a stand though
Bought mine out of MCLS, its a double router table set up. aluminun fences, aluminum mounting plates and tracks with T slots. bought the dust collection hood (extra). Made my own stand, couldn't be happier. Great for doing rail and stile, and raised panels without having to switch, or just one application stuff. You can also order all the pieces and build your own.
Thanks for the input - I will check all of them out.
Danusan, I am not familiar with MCLS. What is that?
Thanks again,

Its a company that makes or markets router bits and accessories. I think its really MLCS.

I made a decent router table that now has passed many miles of trim. The top is 3/4" melamine about 1'6"x2' and the base is just a box with wings that I can clamp to a bench. It is open on the bottom and messy when in use. A dedicated router base is fixed to the table that accepts my bosch. The fence is melamine and about 8" high and about 8" wide so I can clamp featherboards to it and clamp it to the table. The fence also clamps to the table. THe table overhangs the box so I can clamp featherboards to the table too. It takes a little while setting up but the scraps I made it out of didn't cost a thing.
my ideal table would have: large top with at least 18" to left, right, and front. Tall fence 18" with slots for "feather" boards place for inserts that fit around the cutter being used, maybe a tilt feature for use with the lock mitre bit. chip extraction (shop vac hook up is ok) and for shoeman folding legs!!
