Wandering about Home Despot the other day and saw Ryobi had a 12″ or so bench planer out. Anybody got any thoughts?

Spend some money if you want good tools.Ryobi is for diys (unless thats what you are?)
Freinds don't let friends drive Ryobi!
I was on a job where I needed to plane something and mentioned "...back to the shop..." and the homeowner said,"Here, use mine..."
I got only four feet of stock out before smoke was pouring from the thing. No sign of dull blades as seen in the finish produced.

I think Fine Wood just did a test...the "Tools and shops" issue is where I saw it, and the Rigid, Delta, and Makita came out as the favorites, costing between $350 and $490 or so. Check it out, "on news-stands now" as they say!

My Ryobi AP12 planer is great. Wouldn't buy anything else from them.
