My cordless dewalt Recip. saw crapped out me a while back and it is decision time on a new one.I can not make myself pay that much again so what do I do put up with the cord and get a good electric or get a 18volt Ryobi for about 100 bucks.

Rocky, had a Ryobi 18v drill and saw wife got me for Christmas a few years ago.After about a month the chuck on the drill wouldn't chuck anymore so I took both pieces back to HD and replaced them with PC which I've been very happy with. I've seen some posts recently where guys aren't real happy with their PC tools so ???
Maybe somebody will have good advice. As far as cord vs. cordless, cordless is more convenient but the batteries do get expensive when they have to be replaced. I got
one 19.2v replacement battery and it cost me $85.00. Plumber friend has a DeWalt cordless recip. and really likes it. I have a Milwaukee electric and I wouldn't trade it for a battery operated.

Sad to say, my experience with Ryobi tools has been less than satisfactory - I believe the phrase I uttered the last time I used a Ryobi tool was, " Never again! What a POS!"

Not sure which volt Dewalt your talking about, but there are often new Dewalt 14.4/18v circ saws on ebay without batteries. They usually sell within your price range. Since you don't need the batteries or the case, might be the way to go. I've bought several Dewalt and Milwaukee tools this way and haven't been disapointed once and saved a lot of money along the way.
My two cents: Ryobi tools are very innovative, but built to a severe price point, which is probably intensified by the dealings with HD. Which spells trouble. I would wait until the funds support something better, or, look to units with cords. Saws go through batteries like water.
