Hello: I need someone to do a new kitchen cabinet and do the install in Berkeley. I only need the sink area redone, new cabinet, sink and solid surface counter top. Nothing fancy just good quaility work. Duke: [email protected]

Pika Woodworking, in Oakland. WH Woodworking, Oakland or Piedmont. Mueller-Nicholls, Oakland. City Cabinetmakers, SF. You could also go down to the Nexus woodshop and see if anyone's making cabinets there.
Thanks, guy I'll look these guys up. DukeKenneth Duke Masters

Just got some beautiful work done by the Knotty Hole shop on the Peninsula. http://www.knottyhole.com/ The guy who runs the shop is Tod Detro. [email protected]
(650) 324-8474 ext 23
On-time, on budget, had to farm out the installation, but all in all, would use them again in a second.
NotaClue
Nota: Nice work @ Knottyhole but I need some thing for a rental on the middle-lower income side of town. Can't do it myself as I don't get around too well these days. Also the tenant is my son so I want something a bit nicer but not a presentation level project. Another problem is the contractors I've talked to want to do a whole kitchen or nothing.
Thanks anyway. DukeKenneth Duke Masters

You're welcome and you're right; Knotty Hole is the place you go when you want it for your own home...
What about Ikea? Is your son handy with metric Allen ranch and screw driver? Cheaper and essentially disposable cabinets. Put some into an office and they don't look so bad; cleated them for support to prevnt earthquake nightmares.
NotaClue
Nota: Looking for something in the middle, not IKEA, not solid cherry. Plywood cabinets, wood face frame, solid installation, Corian top, good cast iron sink. DukeKenneth Duke Masters

Duke (or more properly Kenneth), when I asked about this over on JLC (they politely tolerated me over there for some questions), William Gotthard suggested "As for a cabinetmaker in the bay area, I would recommend:Big Mac Cabinets

Pleasanton, CA 94566This guy is both super talented and genuinely one of the nicest guys I've ever met in the trades. Cheers, Wm."Actually interviewed him and thought he was a good guy; the pictures he had sort of undersold what his skills were and he couldn't be available in time for us (I recall his name was Neil).Give him a call and at least talk. Maybe he can help.NotaClue

NotaClue: Thanks guy, I'll give him a call. At the moment, all of a sudden, I have three or four possibilities in the pipeline including a couple of appointments for people to come look it over.
