I bought a cheap siphon sand blaster at tractor supply for 20$ and after using it today I am wondering how much better the tank ones are?

Immensely better.
I've got one from Harbor Freight. Other than the extremely short life of the shutoff valve, works great.

Thanks,
I kind of figured it would be but I just didn't want to fork out the 110$ compared to 20.The siphon one worked Ok for this project but I think I will spring for the gravity one here soon.

This is true.
I blew up, literally, a small (3 hp) compressor sand blasting. Don't remember what my IR compressor puts out, upwards of 20 cfm at lower psi, but it's got 140 gal of tank attached. Still works pretty hard. I put an automotive air filter on it.PAHS Designer/Builder- Bury it!
Build your own . Old propane tank some pipes and valves . I no longer use a shut off valve on the hose end . Cut a hole in the bottom turn the tank up and use the old valve hole for sand valve . put a pressure seal lid in the hole you cut . I have a steel plate with rubber belting as a seal. Has a Thandle to keep it from falling in. then you need a hole and pipeing into the top for air and a pipe running down to the sand valve into a pipe T that emties into your hose. Clear as mud?
