Just had a salesman come out and talk to me about a sanidry dehumidier and air filtration unit. Essentially a dehumidifier on steroids (rated at 100pints/day). Anyone familiar with the product? Quoted price was 1800. This is for a very damp basement.
Thanks for any input.

Don't know the brand, but that's a lot of dehumidification. I'll assume you considered temp requirements? You want something that works well below 70ยบ. Did you see a chart showing pints/day with decreasing temps? I'd bet 100 pints will be well above your normal basement temps.
How many amps does it draw? Link to the product?
We do pretty well for 20k cu ft with a 50 pint unit. I bought a pair for $80 (used), still working. Not low temp. Saw a new low temp on ebay today for $135, 45 pint.
Dehumidification's a serious issue here. I always have a spare ready.
PAHS Designer/Builder- Bury it!
6.8 amps.

Doesn't give any specs, I am waiting for them to be sent.
It looks like the Santa Fe whole basement dehumidifier. Excellent units and they're made to last. They use less electricity than other dehumidifiers with the same capacity. Double check your price.

Thanks, I had just found the sante fe on the internet last night. And your right, I can get a much better price than what I was quoted.
John
go with the sante fe.
Dry Guy's and basement doctor are using the same unit, different wrapper, and more $$.
I installed the sante fe about 2 years ago ( +/- $1200) and it is a great machine. You can buy direct from Thermo stor, nice people too
Thanks, I will.
