I have a Sears Craftsman 1719 Protractor Saw Guide Angle Gauge. Looking for any user info that might have came with it. It has several counter sunk holes along it’s legs. What are they for?

I'm going to guess..
I have another brand in the van, the guide edge is longer and it does work to guide the saw. Depending on the angle you use it with the registration edge on one edge or the other of the board being cut,
tho I've not done this, your question sparked a guess.
To allow you to screw it to a shoot board that would stabilize and extend its range of cut?
if it was above zero I might get my semi retired ass out the door and fetch it to give that a try.
But, no way.
