Can anyone help me source long (over 8″) sawzall-style blades for my bosch jigsaw? I could swear I’ve seen them before but, of course, now that I need them….nowhere to be found!

Lennox makes them up to 6", try a search at Milwaukee or Lennox blades.
I wonder if a bosch jigsaw has the beans to run a blade like that.
I saw someone cutting really thick upholstery foam with what appeared to be a Bosch jigsaw with a super long blade. I think the foam was about 8 inches thick.

Was probably the foam rubber cutter, model 1575. I used one in high school to cut foam rubber when I worked at a fabric store.

That's the one! rg
i have a few bosch jigsaw blades- the really aggressive "Progressor" type- that are long enough to cut a 2x4 on edge. would that work? i can't remember where i got them but i would assume they're a standard bosch item. i use them instead of my sawzall when i need a smoother cut with less vibration- like when i'm trying to avoid cracking the plaster on other side of wall.

Thanks, I've got those blades. I need a longer blade to make stright cuts on the top of fence posts. I'm tring to avoid using the circ saw for the job. I figured, with a long blade, I could trim the tops of the posts in one pass.
maybe you could cut them a hair long- by whatever method- and clean them up with a quick pass with beltsander?

Use your circular saw, better results and faster. Make a U shaped jig that is square and flush at the top for a guide. Clamp on post to a line less the width of saw base. Make two or three cuts going around the jig. You could rent a 15" Makita circular saw and do it one pass if you have many to do.This saw sounds huge but is very light , lighter than my worm drive skilsaw.
Great idea...renting the makita is probably cheaper than what these one-time-use blades would be.
