my company is currently completing a high end home and we are ready to screen in the tiled porch. the porch has 12inch round fiberglass columns at the corners, with capitals and bases already installed. the architect also has us running the railing from center to center. on past projects with similar details we have scribed 5/4 treated material into the column and then installed a screen tight system. i have not been to happy with the level of appearance of that approach. has anyone had a better solution?

cut a radius into the wide face of a 2x4 to fit neatly to the column, Dress the 2x4 with appropriate trim.
On this one we decided to stay away from the round columns:
