What products and methods are available for sealing around plumbing pipes and electrical conduits that pass through exterior walls that are either clapboard or wood shingles? With foundation walls that are block or concrete, I would use mortar to seal around the pipes, but for higher up in the wall I’m wondering if there is a product similar to plumbers putty or glazing compound that is good for sealing around pipe and conduit. I’m assuming that the holes are too deep for caulk.

Plumber's putty, the electrical equivalent ("duct seal"), or foam rope topped with a flexible caulk.
