I have a ranch in the Northeast from 1975. It is basic construction with a full basement. The exterior is sheathing, Hardie wrap, 1/2″ foam board, and Hardie board. All around the house there are sizable gaps between the sheathing and sill plate/foundation. Should I caulk these areas? It seems like a great entrance for bugs and energy losses. Can bugs just crawl into my walls from here? Would sealing this cause moisture any moisture issues? See attached photo.
