Gents,
See Pics for reference. I just installed a river run slate patio patio please let me know what is best. The patio is a living space for us and the dog. This is his room. I’m looking for the slate and mortar not to stain from spills and not to be toxic to the dog. Please look at the pics and give me a products to 1 clean the surface first and 2 seal the slate best for long time product name is helpful slate is on a 5″ slab of concrete and is heated from radiators in the room. High traffic area with dog being the main tenant, very particular about his living quarters.
Kidding.
All your help is greatly appr.
Jimmy B

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
WOW!!! What a Ride!

Rez,
Thanks for the + complements for Mojo the "wonder dog". He's a 3 year old Berneis Mountain dog that is spoiled rotten. I really appreaciate the info for sealing the floors I cleaned the mortar off the slate last week with a drill and a 3" steel brush wheel. Lots of fun. Here r 3 more pics of Mojo. Thanks again

I'd try a grout release agent first. If you used mortar for the joints maybe clean with muriatic acid I'd ask about that at a masonry supply store. An Italian mason I know loves VAL-OIL to seal flagstone. I know another Bernice Mountain dog that drewls alot-it's not his fault!
NO MURATIC ACID INDOORS!!!!!
The dog will become history...
and about everything that can and somethings that shouldn't will pitt and show signs of corossion from the fumes...
