What are your experiences with the Sears 1 800 source of sears parts?
I have been on backorder since early June for a blade clamp for a 1 year old sawzall.
Listeners write in about shower panels and cordless tools and ask questions about old wiring, air leaks, and gutter covers.

Ditto Andy.
Look to Ryobi for rhe replacement part.
Who ever invented work didn't know how to fish....
I had great luck with them getting a shaft and bearings for my older Crapsman BS. Took about a week.

I agree that Craftsman tools are not all that anymore, but there was a time...
i have a 1/2 drill that was my Grandfathers, then my Dad's. I'd be glad to hook it up chuck to chuck with about anything and watch while the challenger catches on fire.
So, am I to understand that Craftsman and Ryobi tools are the same now?View Image
depends on the saw you have . might be a black dewalt.
I've had lousy luck with them. Went in to get an arbor nut for my craftsman table saw. But the part number wasn't listed in their computer. So they said - "Sorry - We can't help you".
I asked if all arbor nuts weren't the same size, and they didn't know. So I said what am I supposed to do, buy a new saw since the arbor nut is gone? Didn't get an intelligent response to that one.
How hard can it be to come up with a freakin' arbor nut ???
I'm not losing hair, I'm getting head.
tool repair shop! Bring the saw, they aint all that heavy and they unmount from that cheesy stand real easy.I know..I've had one for years (its a secnd saw of course).
Nice tag by the way...lol
Be well,

As it happens, this is a very old and extrememly heavy table saw. I had to dismantle it to get the dang thing down in the basement.
BTW - What the heck does that tag line mean? Can't "know" the universe ???
Actually, I used to know a guy who believed he could expand his mind to encompass the entire universe. But he was a fruitcake......The United States is the only country where it takes more brains to figure your tax than to earn the money to pay it. [Edward J. Gurney]

some people think they have all the answers is all and pretty adiment about that..closed minded people with little to learn outside of their lil box. I think my current tag says a lot when you put your fingers to your cheek and go.......hmmmmm? whatcha think?
My Sears saw is about 15 years old and I've never had a days worth of trouble with it...its a small one (10"). Not enough power though so I've purchased the Powermatic 5 hp a few years ago....wanna talk heavy?
I had to have my excavation guy lift it on his fork lift and put it in the storage trailer I rented before we knowcked down the additions here that it sat in doin' nada...lol.......soon come mon'
Be well Ron

There are some old wood working tool forums and websites. Some of them have manuals and the like posted for lot of old stuff.
I would try asking there. If a google does not find it them ask over in knots for the website(s).
Or the next time you are in the big city go to a tool dealer with a repair shop. Most arbors are 5/8" and acme thread so I doubt if there are that many different nuts.
Probably for $5-10 they will give you a handfull of which one will work.
Guess I should have pointed out that this was a couple years back, and I have long since figured out a way to "beat the system" and get them to order me an arbor nut.
But the incident really soured me on sears tool in general. If ignorance is bliss, why aren't more people happy?
I'm sitting here thinking 'bout all the bad sears threads there would be if it weren't for HD hogging all the glory....
Excellence is its own reward!
Every place has its own piece of magic, sears is craftsman screw drivers and tape measures, some of the power tools, HD selection and open many hours, lowes cleaner but not as busy. Even tool makers have their best tools Bosch is the jigsaw, hilti for drilling into concrete, and so on. snap-on are great tools but only only cover the blade.................so take the pick and carry on!
