Securing 6×6 posts to resist uplift…suggestions plz!
I plan on building a gazebo very soon. I have gathered up my trusses and roofing material. I have my true 6″x6″x10′ square timbers ready to go.
I live on waterfront property where high winds are extremely common. What is the best way to secure the posts to the ground? I had hoped to build the gazebo with natural earth as the “floor” for now and adding paving stones later for the floor.
I am really not sure the most effective way to get started. Any help, information or advice would be greatly appreciated!!
Have a great season everyone! 🙂

Best way to secure them to the ground is to sink them five feet deep.
Otherwise, use piers and the Simpson hardware
