another route for buying into an insurance group for Health Insurance.
C.H.I.P.
here in PA … CHIP is the Childrens Health Insurance Program.
thinking there’s gotta be similar in each and every other state.
here’s a link to PA’s CHIP website … http://chipcoverspakids1-px.rtrk.com/index.php
I’m posting this because up till now, I thought CHIP Insurance was for low income kids. Since my kid just started kindergarden, we got a brochure about the program sent home.
Read thru it and found out CHIP is available to everyone, the buy in is based on family income … and children, adults and families have different plans available to them.
also read pre-existing conditions do not limit U from buying.
and while I’m talking Insurance … I’ll tell again last time I had to buy my own for the family I went thru a local Chamber of Commerce and joined a group thru Chamber Choice.

FYI
CHIP used to be limited to low income families, but was recently changed to allow access for any child under 19 yrs. old (who isn't eligible for medicaid).
Children are covered either for free, or a small charge based on family income levels.
