I’m looking at Senco finish nailers and was wondering if it is worth the money/hassel of going with the 40 just so I can fire 2.5″ nails vs. the 2″ max the lighter, less expensive gun fires. Thoughts?

I need the 2-1/2" for door jambs (because you might have 1/2" of shims) and thick molding over 5/8" drywall. I've got the 40 and no trouble in 7 or 8 yrs.
*If you are only buying one gun, get the 40. Then you can use it on old plaster homes as well as those door jambs. If you had 2 guns, the 30 would get used 75% of the time.
*Ditto the SFN40. When you find you're in need of 2 1/2" you're gonna kick yourself- unless you want an excuse to buy another toy.
*The 40 is a great gun! The 21/2" helps with crown on plaster walls.
*Both are excellent. But since the 40 does everything the 30 does and more, well you get the idea.
*Go with the 40. I looked long and hard at it, 'cause I love my senco framer. In the end I got a PC 250. It's not a senco, but it is all the tool I will ever need.
