Any one had a chance to try out the 18volt Senco Duraspin DS275 screw gun? There are two posts in the archives on the 14v Senco but nothing on the newer one. I read one review of the 14volt which said it was underpowered, hopefully the 18v version will rectify that. The price of the 18v seems to be at $249 at the web discount tool sites, which was the price of the 14v before they recently lowered it.
I will be putting up about 80 4×8 sheets of either Hardipanel or, more likely, Certainteed on my soon to be constructed 30’x40′ shop building. The auto screw feed should speed up attaching the panels, but may not have enough punch to drill through the 18 gauge girts they will be attached to.

I just bought the 14v (with free cordless rotary saw) strictly for drywall. Before it went on sale it listed for $199 (without the saw). I have a quickdrive corded driver I use for decking and the more heavy duty stuff.
I've had the 14v for a few months as well. Like the cutout tool - real well. It's great on DW, especially when one end is balanced on your forehead. With any screws the head itself on the gun limits how close you can get to a wall (inside corners do the old fashioned way.) Used it on cement board. It sunk them . . . but not as reliably. Biggest critique is on square drives. The tip didn't seem to want to grab them as well as the phillips. You'd start pushing and it'd chatter a little, grab, and sometimes slip out if (ok, it's my fault) the hand wasn't dead steady. Probably technique. Can't help on the 18. If it has more torque, I'd guess you're in business.

I`ve been considering picking up the Duraspin for a while. The original was unable to reverse....have they adressed this with the 18v? I`ve never attempted to figure out how often I need to remove screws during a DW job, but if I have to have a second tool at the ready for just one, I don`t know that the Duraspin would be all that convenient.

Never heard back from you regarding whether the new model was capable of reversing....curious also as to whether or not you`ve purchased the tool yet...review?
