I’m building a structure that will serve as a sort of outdoor kitchen and covered patio.
It will eventually be finished in a similar manner to the woodshed next to it.
I cut the logs and brought them in from the mountains myself. I cut the mortise and tenon and drilled for foundation bolts, etc. I think you may be able to see the string I worked from in one of the pics. Friends and family helped raise the log. Fortunately, it sat right in like I imagined.

Thanks, Wade.
Tried to mail you, maybe you got me blocked?
Very nice.
You don't need to concern yourself with a wood/masonry interface? Looking at one photo, appears you have quite a drive to find a tree. Were these living when you cut them?
PAHS works. Bury it.
Thanks, Tom.I have treated plates on the wall tops and a piece of bituminous under the post. The trees were standing dead fir about an hour's drive WNW from here, up in the sangres above the Great Sand Dunes.
Pretty neat. Be sure to keep us updated on the project.
