Hello All,
We are looking for a quality local design-build firm to help us finish the top floor of our house.
On the design part looking for a well done ‘master plan’ then onto the remodeling of the top floor of our house which could include, Dormers, 2 new bathrooms, laundry room, closets-storage.
Plan would be to finish the top floor and then move onto finishing the middle floor.
Have the cash are ready to go as soon as possible.
thanks,
Daniel Neumansky

throwing in the towel?
Well facing reality actually....
With baby coming and our 60hr a week jobs its just not going to get done and we don't want to live in a construction site for the next 5 years while trying to raise a kid.
One problem is that since we were planning on doing a lot of this ourselves we've got some pretty firm ideas in our heads of how it should be done...like we've already got the radiant heating designed out for that floor so we're going to need to find a firm thats reasonably willing to work with us.

didja get any contacts from this board?
I understand the no time issue especially when you have a newborn in the house and no one is getting any sleep. It's hard enough getting just the basics done let alone trying to do a live-in-reno/remod.
Are you looking for a Design/Build firm or individual subs to let you act as the GC?
I got a couple of contacts but havent heard back from them yet.
Nope not looking to be the GC want competent, quality work done by a good team in a timely matter.
Have to say though the three I've talked to seemed a lot less busy than people were 1 year ago...

Did you contact Bashland Const., Oakland (I think)? They might be at the high end, but you don't know with this market.John
I might have a name for you, I'll check it out and give you the # if they are available. Mike
Small wheel turn by the fire and rod, big wheel turn by the grace of god.
The last couple jobs (it was a few years back, but they're still around) I saw Levitch (out of Berkeley) do were high quality. They've got some in house design. Might be worth a call.
