I think I'm on my 4th or 5th and time to replace it as well. Never did bring em inside for storage and they seem to like to self destruct in the elements.
Thats a nice sturdy design ya got there, I normally just drill the bench for tapered legs, often set the bench on saw horses just to I can use the horse to make it's legs. And yes, I even use a tapered spoon bit ( or a tapered bung borer) after the T-auger to make tapered sockets.
Quiet contemplative time with no batteries or motors is underrated. Following a split with a froe and rounding continuos grain is truely an exp. every router happy junkie needs to exp. once to understand.
