Nothing like getting a new tool and a chance to use it.
I bought this Tapco louver maker a couple of months ago on Ebay.
Then, I get a job working on a modern style home that has a series of shed roofs that need venting at the top. There is an off the shelf vent available for this application, but it wasn’t on any of my supplier’s shelves and the minimum order was 500′. I only needed about 100′. So, I decided to make my own.
My shop drawing – it changed a little before production:

I’ll add some installation pictures next week when we put it on.

Smitty's gonna start riding you about embedding more than 4 in one post !!!!!
Looking forward to seeing the install pics.

I never did catch the reasoning behind that. http://grantlogan.net/
But you all knew that. I detailed it extensively in my blog.
Excellet work Grant. I don't know exactly what your machine is and did but I'm impressed nevertheless. The problem with embedding too man pics is that some dialuppers will not get to see anything...because the post takes too long to load. If you embed on pic per post, they get to see the first one, then decide if they want to follow up and see more. Bob's next test date: 12/10/07

It punches the slots in the flat stock for the breathing holes.http://grantlogan.net/

I thought I was seeing that. Nice pics. I'll be interested to see the onsite stuff. Bob's next test date: 12/10/07
I don't really either.
I load twenty posts per page. Once the page starts loading, all the pictures with it do too, so if somebody has thirty photos to embed, t doesn't matter to me if there are thirty is one post, of if they get spread over 8-`10 posts, they all start downloading.

I never thought about that Piffin! I dont embed because I feel bad for the dialuppers. I was there myself and remember the pain of waiting. I'd rather pick and choose the pics that I open. Bob's next test date: 12/10/07
there times when too many try to load at once and the system locks up. I have to either go away for twenty minutes or do a restart, sometimes both, so if a two minute wait doesn't help, I restart the system and avoid that thread

Me neither. What difference does it make if you imbed 4 pics in two different posts or 8 pics in one post? Either way you've got the download the pics.jt8
So what was that like?It was like coming THIS close to your dreams. And then watch them brush past you like a stranger in a crowd. At the time you don’t think much of it. You know we just don’t recognize the most significant moments of our lives while they’re happening. Back then I thought, “well, there’ll be other days.†I didn’t realize that that was the only day. --FoD
I just peeked into my "preferences". I am allowing the system to load 20 messages per page for me. If I was on dialup, I'd drop that down considerably...maybe to two or three..maybe five. If I'm only allowing a few pages and none of them have embedded pics, the words should load quite fast. I'd then read the words and decide if the pics were worth looking at. I'd also see the size of them and make my decision based on that too. With those options in mind, I think it makes a huge difference whether someone embeds or not. And it makes a much bigger difference if they embed four pictures vs one. Embedding makes it easier for the guys with fast downloads but it shuts out dialuppers. Bob's next test date: 12/10/07
