I have made screen doors whenever I need one. Here is one I made this morning. 2/8 x 7/0 x 1-1/4 thick, VG WRC, needs to be trimmed, fitted with hardware, and hung. It will be painted. Screen panels will be aluminum-framed, and fixed with SS screws to the stops.
Having not bought doors like this, what am I saving, or am I saving anything?

I've made a few, also purchased some from the company below. Their price for a door like you made would be close to $ 400.00, plus shipping. They have a option to increase the door thickness from 1-1/8" to 1-3/8". I believe they use Southern Yellow Pine.

Nice door.
I just ordered a VG doug fir 2-panel bottom and 2/3rd screen upper, 3/0, 1 1/8" door from the local yard, $190, on sale, down from $225. To be honest, it's cheaper than I can make, and I have the shaper cutters to do it.
The door I ordered wouldn't be nearly as well made as yours, if that helps.
