The on/off switch on my shop vac died, and I’m having trouble finding a new one. I’ve been to the Shop Vac site and when I enter the model# it comes up with nothing. It’s a model QPS35, and even on Google I’m having trouble finding info.
Anybody have a good source for parts?

Got a pic of the switch? Probably not proprietory, try electronics supply, maybe Grainger?
Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.
No picture at this time, but it is a double pole single throw rocker switch.
The rating on it is 15A at 125v and 12A at 250v. I checked Grainger first thing and couldn't come up with a switch with those same ratings.

I'll check those links out, thanks. I just got an e-mail back from ShopVac, and they want me to buy a new power unit, Ha!

"double pole single throw"
You sure about that? I never saw a double pole switch on a 120v machine. My guess is that it's a single pole, single throw. You could probably pick up something that'll work at a hardware store or Radio Shack.Mike HennessyPittsburgh, PAEverything fits, until you put glue on it.
It probably is a double pole switch. Sometimes one set of contacts goes bad and you can just short the bad one out for a little more use.
Why not just call them to see if there is a substitute?

I've had them send me some parts that I've broken for free.
If you can't get a switch to fit, you could wire it to be always on, and plug it into a power strip to control it, or add a switch to the power cord.
I think iirc I have ordered a part from these people. Good service. I ddint see a qsp 35 but a qsp 30 and a 400 hangup. Might use the same switch. Look at the schematic. Some have part numbers for switches some don't.

Go up to vacuum parts, then down on the left to shopvac, then to shopvac schematics. Site is kind of confusing.

Yup. Forget the switch, do a bypass and add an inline switch.
Mitch,
I second the idea of calling them. I just got a new switch from them for mine, all it took was a phone call.
Personally, I hardly ever use e-mail for this type of thing. I find a phone call is the quickest and easiest way to do things.

To All: Thanks for the responses.
I think I will give them a call tomorrow, 'cause there is no way I'm going to buy a whole new power unit when all I need is a switch. It ticks me off that a company can't(or won't) provide a simple solution to a simple problem.
I did find out the switch is a Molveno, and found a spec sheet online....but I don't read Italian.
