Probably.
You will need to clean and roughen up the surface of the existing tile to provide for a good bond.Assuming that you just want a change in look and are not covering up a failing installation, use a modified thinset on the roughened surface along with a proper trim tile to cover the edges.Should be fine.
If you have a failing surface, much more work to do.
what the heck
was I thinking?
If I roughen the surface, what woud be the best way?
Making sure the tile is clean, just use a rough sandpaper, make sure to sand the entire surface. Then dust and clean thoroughly before the new application.what the heck was I thinking?
I`ve used a grinder in the past to rough tile surfaces, just be careful not to damage more than the tiles surface.J. D. Reynolds
