Hi all!
We’re renovating both our bathroom and went to a tile store to get grout for the tile in our shower walls and tub. I researched online, and based on everything I read, I want to stay away from sanded grout. I read that epoxy grout is the best type and it is the most water resilient. I know it is pricy, but figure that is why,
But at the tile store, the young lady looked at me like I was from Mars and said “no no no” when I said what I had read.
So I’m asking the pros here…is epoxy grout the best to use for a shower and tub walls? Ho about sanded or unsanded grout?
Thank you everyone!

Multiple types of grout sanded is only for large grout joints over 1/8". Epoxy is difficult to work with so I wouldn't recommend. The newest to the lineup is a Custom non sanded epoxy combo. That's what you want to use. Make yourself a sample board of tile set on Hardiboard say 2 tiles wide by 3 or 4 tiles long and grout that. How you clean the grout haze is the key to a nice finished job. If you have to do multiple samples, it will pay off for when you tackle the real job.
