We have recently encountered some of our homes developing “spare tires” (in the vinyl siding) at the area of the rim(ring) joist of the second floor assembly. Can understand it is due to shrinkage,drying of construction grade lumber… Guess I’m just looking for a solution outside of useing kiln dried lumber or haveing to lower the starter strip at the 1 year mark.
