Side discharge or compact ac compressors
I’ve been looking for a compact ac comp. ( 3- ton) or just one less space hungry than the typical round ones.
bryant, carreier etc. all seem to have the same one,13-15 seer & about 45x18x36″
I was hoping to find something better, I know the round shape is more efficient but the units location makes round undesirable
Does anyone know of another manufacturer?

lots of the units in motels in the carribbean are square when viewed from the side , thin front to back and are side discharge. size /capacity? I do not know- sanyo, mitsubishi etc.
For what is worth.... most side discharge condensing units I have seen blow out just above the coil intake. Some of the discharge air then gets sucked back across the coil, thus decreasing the efficiency.
The old york "tomb stones" blew out 90* to the coil surfaces but those were some ugly units.
I remember seeing these now, Looks like a good set up and would be perfect for my situation, I wonder why this layout didn't catch on? thanks for the reply. Luke
