I am side walling some off grid camps sheathed is 1 x 6 hard pine T&G. The original WC shingles were nailed up with 1″ Galvanized hand nails. I can not find these shorter nails which prevented points from emerging into the living space. The job is not subject to code. The preference is to not use SS. There are no guns on the job. They used to be available in 50lbs. boxes manufactured in Nova Scotia.
