Hi Piffin
Double 4in , yes remove, replace very little j channel, starter strips etc. two story, flat drive way side. very easy access. just wondering what guys are charging for flat sq price as thats what im going to charge no matter how easy it is. To me flat sq price is cost of all trim work j channel, undersill strips etc. keeping corner boards but customer even said to go for high est. as this is the second time its had to be replaced and this time siding co is paying labor too. last time they only gave her siding and this time shes ready to go to court and they agreed to pay all of it.
so I can at least find what guys are charging for full sq prices. by the way hows it going down mid coast? been a lot of snow up here in Bangor. Hope your having a good year. mine was going good until my wife needed brain surgery in november , it put a sudden stop to my working and with having to stay home to take care of her after, I have been staying home a lot but Im starting to get back to work now. Im not trying to complain just the facts of life. but its good to get working again. My wife is doing better now and recovering good. any way have a good weekend.Carpentry and remodeling

We've had a tremendous amt of snow fall out of the sky but most keeps melting again so we only have a couple feet here and some spots bare ground.sorry to hear 'bout your DW. Life has its challenges for all of us, but some more than others. With counting removeal of old, I might be wanting a bit more than 250, but I think a lot of guys would be happy to get that right now.My stepson is on a siding job of all cedars with woven corners. He called the other day to ask me what I would be expecting for progress rate. I told him a good man in good conditions might do a square a day, but the average guy in this winter with weaving corners would be doing very good to get 1/2 square a day. He felt good because they have been doing 3/4 sq per man per day in this lousy weather. But his boss has been complaining and raging on them to do better and saying he is losing money on them.Turns out I hear now, that he bid the job at a lousy $250/square! That's fine for vinyl, but cedars need a lot of labour and should be more like 4-6oo! The boss is screwing himself in the way he priced his work, now expecting the guys to make up for his mistake. You are doing better to feel out a production rate ahead of time.
