In a recent post, I asked about nailers for fiber cement siding (Hardie). One suggestion, since I am not a full-time builder, was to buy a roofing gun that could double to nail the siding. I cam across the Bostitch N66C-1 that “they’ call a siding/fencing nailer. Does anyone have this gun? Will it shoot roofing nails?

It's this one, right? No that will only shoot siding nails which are completely different than roofing nails. They are both coil nailers but they differ from there. You could use that gun for FC using siding nails. I like the siding nails better for FC, the heads are smaller so your less likely to get the heads to show on blind nailing.

If you buy a used nailer on ebay, you should be able to resell for the same money you bought if for, or at least very close to that amount.
If you want a roofing nailer for the FC, bostitch makes one that people like (don't know the model number but its the new one were the nail basket opens to the side. Hitachi make a nice roofer too but its a little inconsistent on FC, leaves the nails proud but that just means you need to hammer the nails flush once in a while.
this is the bostitch roofer that some like for the FC http://www.bostitch.com/default.asp?CATEGORY=BOS%5FROOFING%5FNAILER%5FSTAPLER&TYPE=PRODUCT&PARTNUMBER=RN46&SDesc=Industrial+Coil+Roofing+Nailer
Thabks, That;s what I thought but the coil part did have me guessing. You had the right model too. I guess I'll go with the other model you listed since that was my original thought. I have about 25 sq. of shingles to lay; that's why I'm looking for a nailer to do both jobs. Thanks again.
