I’m working on an addition which has a brick ledge about 16″ above grade. The framing is set 4″ back from the brick ledge – did it this way in case I ever brick the whole thing.
I’m going to install fibercement or vinyl for now. Looking for some guidance on the proper flashing/transition detail. Should I fur out the walls so the siding is flush with the brick veneer face or just install a “cap flashing” over the brick.
Vinyl or fibercement? I really like the looks of the fibercement but hate painting….
