Silstone is a man-made quartz & resin product, right? What is cambria?

All:
I've been in the solid surface countertop business for over a decade. I sold more Zodiaq, DuPont's quartz countertop material, than any other fabricator in the Toledo, Ohio area when it first came out.
Zodiaq, Cambria, Silestone, Techstone, Avanza, etc, are all made by the patented Breton process and are virtually identical, except color, despite what manufacturer's say. They grind up quartz, color it, add polyester, cook it on the line, polish and out the door. Unlike granite, it never needs sealing and passes National Sanitation Foundation requirements and comes with a ten year limited warranty unlike the taillight warranty you get with granite. (You see the taillights of the install truck, there goes your warranty.)
I think Cambria has the best colors availiable. Select a reputable fabricator, preferrably a member of the International Solid Surface Fabricators Association.

Good Luck.
as far as chosing one over the other which whould you choose and why
Andy:
Pick the color and fabricator you like and buy it. Every quartz top is made by the patented Breton process, it is all the same.
It also depends on your area, In our area we only have Silestone available. Cambria is made in LeSeur Minnesota but they have a pretty good dealer base. We love the Silestone but haven't been able to compare with Cambria, although I agree it is the same process
