I’m looking to understand my options from a code perspective for whether the sill plate can overhang the foam on an ICF stem wall, or does the sill plate need to bear fully on the concrete? I’m juggling various exterior/interior wall surfaces/ thicknesses for an addition to an older house. I haven’t been able to find the correct code section that might help.
A few details:
Zone 6A
IRC 2015
likely 2×6 walls for addition
11″ Buildblock ICFs, with 6″ core
Concrete slab on grade, flush with top of ICFs
Thanks!

Wisconsin has some guidance.
Thanks UncleMike- great info. This is just the type of info that I'm looking for. Hopefully someone might have feedback for a similar section in IRC.
