On my bathroom remodel project the inspector is requiring silver solder on the under-slab copeer water pipes. I’ve abandoned a few pipes where we moved showers and toilets.
Will MAPP gas heat the pipes enough to silver older, or do I need an acetylene torch? Any tips? Thanks

mapp will do it ok up to 3/4" pipe.

mapp will work fine, so will propane, but you cannot have any joints under the slab. must be one piece.(code item) pipe also must be sleeve in concrete.
I don't have a choice in this case. We moved walls where the toilet and shower plumbed from under the slab. I think that's the reason the inspector is insisting on silver and not tin-antimony solder.
My plan was to wrap after solder to keep the concrete and soil off the pipe and joint.
Have you considered PEX? It has good chemical resistance to concrete and is seamless.
