This simple, open vanity base (custom made for $1,500 with top) is pleasing to the eyes and functional. It is the ideal choise for a tiny bathroom in an old bungalow

But where do you hide the toilet paper, the tampons, the toilet cleaner, etc?
Function and simplicity= beauty
Ah, I failed to mention the curtain the owner made for the large opening. Even without a curtain, if the cleaners and brushes are pushed back far enough and neatly organized, they blend well with the form-and-function thrust of this remodel. I prefer to think outside the box, and I am glad that many of my clients warm to my ideas.
The deep shelf to the left "hides" TP and yet a new roll can be grabbed from the side, while sitting on the throne. The PVC drain is almost invisible when standing, since the bathroom is tiny. The thrust of the project is simplicity and beauty. I dislike box-like vanities with doors...I prefer open cabinets whenever pos. There is a drawer for "personal items". The top is marble. You can't beat a large base, custom made, and top for 1.5 grand :)
$1500 for the vanity and you put it in with $8 PVC trap
Its like serving Kobi beef on a trash can lid.
Looks simple and functional, yet a bit pricey.
price is relative
In my opinion all hand-made objects are "pricey" :) The trick is to find a reasonable compromise between three elements: function, beauty and cost. The house is a 1930's style bungalow; hardly the place for a box-store purchased VB. Notice that the price includes the granite top. I would say this unit is worth more than $2,000, but because it is for a loyal client I am willing to bend...but not break :)
The appeal of this bathroom is the simplicity and functionality. It looks really practical but I have to say that it's quite pricey.
