We have to build a bond beam 6″ x 10″ on top of an existing adobe wall. In the past we’ve used 3/4″ ply and stripped the forms later.
I thought I once saw a product where you could cut ridgid board and insert plastic webs –then pour concrete–no forms to strip and the concterte’s insulated.

Ray , you could use hex head snap ties with a 1/2 " break back . That would put the metal 1/2" inside the concrete when you snap them off . Then fill the holes in the foam with the can stuff. Don
